A good memory power requires many years of training, and is best done since young. There are many ways to exercise your child’s memory power. Here are a few examples of how you can boost your child’s memory like solving sudoku puzzles, eating right and lastly, music!
Why sudoku puzzles? Sudoku puzzles are mathematical puzzles which require the solver to think logically but not mathematically. There is only one unique answer for each puzzle and the rules are simple. There are difficulty levels for every puzzle and some are harder than the rest. As simple as they sound, they are a good way of training the brain. Pre-schools now are beginning to incorporate Sudoku puzzles in classrooms as a brain exercise. While solving the puzzles, children can develop their logic and reasoning skills. It also improves their concentration too!
Food intake is also very important to boost brain power. The nutrients contained within children’s daily meals are essential in developing young minds. Some foods contain more brain food than others while some are harmful. Try to avoid foods that contain high amounts of flavorings and preservatives. Natural foods are better than processed foods. Foods like eggs which are rich in protein or oily fish which contains Omega-3 acids can help in brain development as they contain nutrients which are building blocks of the human brain. Should your child dislike fish, you may substitute it with Cod Liver Oil which has the same properties but come in fruity flavors that your child will like. Remember to eat lots of fruits and vegetables as they are not only good for health but contain a multitude of nutrients and minerals that your body needs.
Another alternative is music. Music helps to fine tune the brain in a way that it encourages creativity in the brain and also improves memory skills. By learning music, children’s listening skills can become sharper and research suggests that it also helps in improving concentration. Besides, your child will also have an accomplishment to be proud of in the future which indirectly boosts their confidence sand helps them to stay active!
Most importantly, don’t forget to let your children have sufficient rest as without rest, the brain is deprived of its rejuvenating time and will affect them in their daily activities! It is actually not hard to boost your child’s brain power as long as your child adopts a healthy lifestyle!
