How Educational Toys Benefits Young Children

All work and no play make Jack a dull boy, this is the famous saying citing that all playing is not just important, but is essential. In fact, children learn the most through playing as their mind need constant simulation.  And many of today’s educational tools have the benefits of getting the children to explore this world through a new perspective and view of their view.

Good educational toys do not necessarily need to be expensive or branded. Some of them can even be self-made.  But it is highly important that children’s toys are made from safe materials and will not be harmful for children under any circumstances.  Children toys should be created with no sharp edge or corner and with no poisonous chemicals painted on them to avoid hazardous fatal for young children.

At different age, different types of educational toys with their different features and characteristic are found to be suitable for that specific age.  For infants around age one, toys which are bright in color and is able to walk might be a good one as this is the time your twelfth years old needs to be encouraged to walk on her own. As the child moves into age two and three, what they need are good educational toys which would enhance their manipulation skills. Lego game equipped with holes of animal shapes is a good educational toy to get your child to recognize what shapes are, and to polish up their skills in recognizing different shapes and know them well enough  the right shape into the right hole.

Around the age of four, your kids need educational toys to stimulate their mind and thoughts, also the need to have them physically active while at the same time being able to focus on what they are doing are of utmost important.  The “fishing game” where the fishing circle keep running into circle while your children will need to try to catch as many fishes as possible are one good educational tool which would help to keep the children’s eyes, brain and action all working concurrently.

Generally, good educational toys help to:

  • Expose children to deeper intellectual challenges, to improve their creativity and innovativeness.
  • Enhance your child cognitive power development where different maturity level of thinking is to be well developed phases by phases as your child grows with the improved ability to manage the different challenges as they progress.
  • Development of children’s motor system need to be in sync with their cognitive power development.  Motor development here refers to physical development which is inevitable for any healthy children.
  • Soft-skill development.
